LONDON, England (CMC) - Jamaican international Ricardo Fuller will know
tomorrow if British immigration authorities will allow him to complete his
one-month loan move from Southampton to Ipswich. The East Anglia
Daily Times has reported that officials from the east England club are
expected to meet with Work Permits UK in Sheffield within the next 48
hours to argue their case for a work permit for the 26 year-old striker.

Fuller signed a deal with the east England club last week, but Work
Permits UK intervened, revealing that the player's current work permit
allowed him to play for Southampton alone.

Ipswich subsequently made the application for a new work permit for
Fuller, but there is some doubt over its success since no player has ever
been granted a permit to play for another club on loan.

However, if Ipswich's application is successful, Fuller could line up for the
club against Leicester City on Saturday. Joe Royle, Ipwich's manager,
blasted the stipulation that has prevented Fuller from suiting up for his
club.

"Ricardo Fuller was signed and registered in time to play but then some
jobsworth at the immigration department decides we need a new work
permit," Royle told British media.

"I know of other loan players who have moved between clubs without
work permit problems, but in this case, it seems Ricardo's work permit is
not transferable."

Roye indicated that he was already putting an alternative plan in place
just in case the application was turned down by the authorities.

"There were only really two strikers I wanted and they were Alan Lee and
Ricardo," Royle said.

"That said, I have been keeping an eye on a couple of other players just
in case and I will be making a couple of preliminary phone calls to
managers in the next day or so."

Ipswich's chief executive Derek Bowden also expressed his
disappointment over having to apply for a new work permit for Fuller.

"It is extremely disappointing that we were not made aware of the
restrictive nature of Ricardo's work permit," Bowden said.

LONDON, England (CMC) - Jamaican international Ricardo Fuller
has completed his loan move to Ipswich in the English Championship,
after British authorities approved his work permit application yesterday.

"It is a victory for common sense and obviously we are delighted to have
Ricardo with us again," Ipswich manager Joe Royle told the club's website.

The 26-year-old striker, who plays for Southampton also in the
Championship, will now suit up for Ipswich's next fixture against Leicester
City at the weekend.

Fuller signed a deal with the east England club last week but Work Permits
UK intervened, revealing that the player's current work permit allowed
him to play for Southampton alone.

The authorities also indicated that in order for Fuller to represent Ipswich,
they club needed to make a new application for a work permit.

Fuller was forced to return to Southampton while the application went
before Work Permits UK for consideration.

The clearance is thought to have come against the odds as there was
some speculation that the application had little chance of succeeding.

Royle has been very keen to get Fuller at Ipswich and had said earlier this
week that he hoped the player could make the deal permanent once the
one-month loan move was successful.

Fuller, who left Portsmouth at the end of last season, has struggled at
Southampton to find playing time in the first team and Royle said he
believed the player's interest would be better served elsewhere.
