Stoke captain Danny Higginbotham has backed Ricardo Fuller to play a
major role in the Potters' push for the play-offs.

The striker put in a star performance in the 4-2 victory over Leicester on
Saturday to keep Tony Pulis' side's play-off hopes alive.

Fuller scored a penalty against the Foxes, taking over from Higginbotham
on spot-kick duties, but the former Derby defender had no qualms about
stepping aside.

He told the Stoke Sentinel: "It was important for Ricardo to score because
he's missed a lot of games lately for one reason or another.

"We all know confidence is key for strikers and there's nothing like a goal
to help that, so when I saw him grab the ball to take the penalty I decided
to let him get on with it.

"I believe Ricardo is going to be a very important player for us over the
last six games of the season and hopefully that penalty will help him
achieve that."
